We have some fantastic news with the appointment of a new trustee, Dr Desaline Joseph, strengthening our sleep support for children.
Dr Joseph, a leading sleep consultant at children’s hospital, Evelina London, has joined our board of trustees to enhance our sleep advice and support services for children.
She is a national expert in childhood and adolescent sleep disorders; and is passionate about education and supporting professionals in their personal growth and is instrumental in shaping sleep education across the UK. Specialising in paediatric sleep medicine, she runs a tertiary sleep service, which aims to support paediatric consultants and CAMHS psychiatrists in assessment and management of children and young people with complex, rare and refractory sleep conditions. Her research includes examining babies sleep rhythms by recording their body temperature patterns, the day-night production of hormones critical to sleep and rhythm development (melatonin and cortisol) and clock genes. She also gives regular lectures and sits on various committees.
As a new trustee, Dr Joseph will contribute to the development of strategies that reinforce our overall direction in addressing children’s sleep-related concerns. Her experience in sleep education and her passion for helping young people thrive will be hugely valuable and we look forward to working alongside her to further The Sleep Charity’s reach and impact.
Welcome Dr Desaline!
