Volunteer Training
Since the charity began in 2012, recruiting and supporting volunteers has been key to our approach.
We recognise how valuable our volunteers are and are committed to supporting them and recruiting more trained volunteer Sleep Practitioners to support the most vulnerable families, including increasingly through online/telephone channels, to help spread the message about sleep support within communities.
The charity has a strong track record in recruiting and managing volunteers, culminating in the awarding of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2020.

Sleep Talkers Volunteer Programme
Our Sleep Talkers programme helps bring trusted sleep information and positive conversations about sleep into communities across the UK.
Sleep Talkers are trained volunteers who raise awareness of the importance of good sleep, share practical information and signpost people experiencing sleep difficulties to appropriate support and services.
By encouraging open conversations about sleep, Sleep Talkers help people feel more confident talking about their difficulties, reduce feelings of isolation and ensure more people know where to turn for help.

Queen’s Award
The Sleep Charity has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – known as the ‘MBE for the voluntary sector’. It is the highest accolade a voluntary group can receive in the UK.
