Sleep issues affect approximately 40% of the population in the UK and research clearly demonstrates that if we do not get adequate sleep our physical and mental health can be adversely affected.
We are on a mission to raise awareness, improve sleep support nationally and ensure that health professionals are trained appropriately.

Working together for change
Sleep for Health Coalition
We know that creating lasting change takes collaboration. That’s why The Sleep Charity is a founding member of the Sleep for Health Coalition, working alongside organisations and experts who share our ambition to improve the nation’s sleep.
Through the coalition, we help champion sleep as an important public health issue and support calls for greater recognition of sleep within national health policy and prevention strategies.
By bringing our expertise, insight and the experiences of the people we support to the conversation, we’re helping to build a stronger collective voice for sleep and push for meaningful, long-term change
Making dreams of change a reality
We are eager to work with brilliant partners in the NHS, Government and the private sector to make the dream of good sleep a reality to improve the health, wellbeing and productivity of millions of people.

Our Campaigning In Action

End Overprescribing for Insomnia
Supported by Parliamentarians including Dr Simon Opher MP and Lord Tarassenko, this report outlined overprescribing for insomnia and calling for nationwide access to recommended insomnia treatment.

Dreaming of Change
The UK is in the midst of a sleep crisis that’s having a profound and escalating impact on our health, the economy and society as a whole. We called for the Government to develop a National Sleep Strategy to tackle the problem.
