Sleep is a key foundation of good physical, mental and emotional health, yet it continues to be overlooked in healthcare, public policy and everyday conversations. That’s why we’re proud to be a founding member of the Sleep for Health Coalition – a new collaborative initiative bringing together leading organisations committed to making sleep a national health priority.
The Coalition has been established to raise awareness of the essential role sleep plays in preventing illness, improving quality of life and supporting healthier communities. By working together, the Coalition aims to influence policy, improve education, champion research and ensure that sleep is recognised as an essential pillar of health alongside nutrition and physical activity.
The founding members of the Sleep for Health Coalition are:
-
The Sleep Charity
-
The British Sleep Society
- Restless Leg Syndrome UK
- OSA Alliance
- Circadian Mental Health Network
- British Society of Pharmacy Sleep Services
-
Hope2Sleep Charity
-
The Sleep Apnoea Trust
- Down Syndrome and Sleep Research Network
Together, these organisations represent expertise across clinical care, research, patient advocacy and public education. By combining knowledge and experience, the Coalition will provide a stronger, united voice to improve sleep health across the UK.
At The Sleep Charity, we’ve long championed the importance of sleep in supporting better health and wellbeing. Joining forces with fellow experts through the Sleep for Health Coalition is an exciting step towards creating lasting change and ensuring that everyone has access to the information, support and care they need to sleep well.
